Our Story
We are all about Streams, Trees & Mountains, affectionately shortened to Streeams & Mountains. At the heart of us lies Karuwala Mukalana Organic Estate, nestled on the edge of a forested mountain, surrounded by natural water streams and the expansive Kaluwara Mukalana Forest. The name 'Karuwala Mukalana' translates to "Deep Dark Forest," and a portion of our estate even includes a private jungle.
This isolated and self-sufficient estate is a sanctuary; you must traverse a footpath for about 20 minutes from the last inhabited area to reach us. The weather here changes drastically throughout the day, lending a unique and distinctive taste to our teas. Karuwala Mukalana Tea is nourished solely by fallen leaves from the forest, while our other two tea varieties are crafted in collaboration with neighboring farmers.
The founder discovered this enchanting land in 2020 and was immediately captivated by its natural beauty and surroundings. At that time, the tea plants were still young and small. Over the years, he has cultivated coffee, herbs, and spices while conserving and nurturing the land. Now, as the tea yields flourish, his passion for creating the "Best Tea for The Planet" has only grown stronger.
One of our main goals is to continue the STM project, which focuses on reforesting natural water stream beds that have been impacted by villagers and farmers. We invite you to join us in this meaningful endeavor.
